Join HERIZEN™ Wilderness for Women on a magical Baja Cave Art by Mule Adventure!

A rich tapastry of Great Mural art is hidden in rock shelters in the remote, rugged desert arroyos of Central Baja California Sur- only those adventure explorers, lovers of art and spendor will make the trek to experience these larger than life paintings.

This is a true off-the-beaten-path mountain journey to the Sierra San Francisco World UNESCO site, riding steady, well-trained mules along remote trails that climb and descend rugged terrain to reach ancient pictograph sites and isolated ranch lands. At times the paths are narrow or exposed, and days include mounting, dismounting, and hiking on rocky, unmaintained trails or through boulder-strewn arroyos, so a comfort with heights, prior riding familiarity, and a moderate level of fitness are important. Supported by skilled vaqueros (cowboys) and grounded in the quiet beauty of desert mountains and star-filled backcountry camps, the experience can be challenging in moments and deeply peaceful and rewarding throughout.
